In December of 2013, Café Evergreen took over the first floor of our Flagship building: The historic Venice-Nokomis Bank Building, designed by Thomas Reed and built in 1923 by Dr. Fred Albee as the first bank of the area. This building is the last standing significant historical structure on US41 (Tamiami Trial) between Venice and Sarasota. Over time, it has housed the Venice-Nokomis Bank, a small post office, the Komsee Inn (Motel) and a clockmaker’s antique store. During our ownership and under very strict supervision this historic building went through a painstaking and detail oriented restoration, bringing it back to its old glory. Traveling North or South on US41 you can’t miss this beautiful two story building on the West side of the road just South of the bridge over Donna Bay, adjacent to the Nokomis Preserve.

Nokomos Sunset Hut

This is OLD Florida at its best! Captain Eddie's has been around for almost 40 years on this spot. Fresh seafood and great atmosphere in cool company. Plenty of parking. No need to say more.
